For your final film file, the only technical settings you need to consider are that your final film should be output as a 1920x1080 24p .mp4 or .mov file and must be under 10GB in size (ideally much smaller, but this is the cap from FilmFreeway). If you are shooting with a different aspect ratio, please letterbox or pillarbox your final output file to match 1920x1080.
When you're ready to submit your project, complete ALL of the following steps:
Sign in or create a free FilmFreeway.com account.
Once you are logged in, click on the "My Projects" tab in the upper right.
Then the "Add a Project" button.
There are many fields available for you to fill in, but the only required field here is the project title - which must include your team name, so if you are in a hurry, you may enter your title and team name as the title and move on
You may also complete this step well in advance.
Upload your file - this may take some time, but you can continue to submit your project before your film has completed its processing.
Once you've created and uploaded your project, you still need to submit it to our festival!
Visit our festival page at https://filmfreeway.com/fall48 and hit the submit button.
In the pop-up window, select your project from the drop-down in the upper left.
Then choose the category that best represents you and your team (High School/Current Student/Community + Alumni, etc).
Click the "Add to cart & Checkout" button and await confirmation.
If you are submitting in the Community category, follow the steps to complete the payment.
ONE MORE IMPORTANT STEP!
Once you’ve submitted your project to the Fall48 FilmFreeway page, you will also need to complete this Google Form. We use this to collect all of your supplemental documents, like your script, release forms, and music licenses. We also have to collect a copy of your film file to upload to our YouTube channel and embed on our website! You have more time to do this though - you need to submit all of these documents by 11:59 PST on Monday, November 4.
Remember, all teams must submit the following in order to qualify for awards and prizes:
A copy of the screenplay for the film.
All release forms for the crew (signed by a parent or legal guardian if under the age of 18) along with a “Credits” list of cast and crew.
Talent/location releases for all cast and privately owned locations depicted in the film.
A copy of all releases/licenses for any music used in your film.
You will submit all of these via this Google Form. You have until 11:59 PST on Monday, November 4, to accomplish this!
That's it! We can't wait to see what you've come up with! If you have any questions or troubles, please reach out.
