RESOURCES
We’ve gathered up a bunch of helpful resources, forms and templates to help you hit the ground running on this 48-hour challenge. You can download the essentials pack which includes the writing, location and release forms as well as a read-me file that explains it all.
Remember, you are required to submit a script, as well as a release form for each person and location involved in your film! You can find these forms and templates in the essentials pack.
Below you can find individual zip folders with even more resources for you to explore on this or other film projects (due to the nature of the quick turnaround time on this, we recommend sticking to the essentials). If you have questions about any of these, reach out via the contact page and we’ll get back to you as quick as we can.
WRITING RESOURCES
Download script template Word files to help you draft your story ideas. You are required to submit a script with your final film, but it can take whatever format you’d like - you do not have to use one of these templates - but remember, substantially improvised films may not be accepted.

MUSIC FOR YOUR FILM
To use a cut of music in your film for this competition, you'll need to have a license/agreement to use it, so that will rule out most popular music/major record label content. There are a couple of ways you can secure this for other tracks though:
A music release form is included in the Fall48 essential resources that you may use if you wanted to work with a musician you know. This would allow you to get the rights to use something they have already recorded or something that they would make specifically for your Fall48 film.
Using a Royalty-free track of music. This is something you might purchase the rights to use but are not required to pay royalties on (cost per view/stream/etc.)
You can find music like this from sites like Musicbed, premiumbeat, and marmoset, or a service you subscribe to like epidemicsound or artlist.io.
You can also find some free options by searching the web for "free royalty-free music" - just be sure to download the license along with the track.
Using a creative commons cut of music - see the link for more information and sources for these type of tracks.
Be sure to properly credit the musician and the track, as well as express the CC license the track is under. For example, you might include text like this at the end of your video:
This video features the song “Desaprendere (Treatment)” by fourstones, available under a Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial license.
LOCATION AND RELEASE FORMS
Teams are required to submit signed and completed release forms for everyone who works on and appears in your film (including extras), and any locations you use (to include private residences, private business locations, and any public spaces that require agency approval). It’s a good idea to get these completed before you shoot!
Cast and Crew Release Form (UI specific - all participants must complete this)
Generic Cast Release Forms (for your future/personal projects)

PRODUCTION DOCUMENTS
Here we’re providing things like a short film production summary template, prop lists, circle take sheets, call sheets, shot list templates, cast & crew lists, mood boards, scene breakdowns, weekly schedule templates, and more. These are more advanced documents, and would probably be considered overkill for a 48-hour film challenge, but there’s still lots of great stuff in here! If you are enjoying this stuff and want to learn more about the in’s and out’s of the filmmaking process, come check us out!
